Meet Peter Luhr

Peter Luhr, originally from Belgium, moved to Atlanta in 1979.  His background of professional soccer always included tennis as the cross training sport and he has enjoyed coaching and teaching tennis from tots to ATP level players.

Peter started an after school program, in elementary schools, in 1991, using the method that is now referred to as " Quickstart"; this graduated tennis system, with portable nets and transition balls, was prevalent in Europe ( Belgium, Sweden and Germany, in particular) and proved to be very popular with the after schools kids ( K-5 ).

In 1994, Peter was eventually asked to join the staff at Harrison TC in Marietta and was instrumental in getting this amazing facility the top USTA honors in Georgia and the Southern district.

Peter was part of the "QuickStart" pioneer group with USTA, as Harrison was asked to be the pilot program in Georgia, in 2006; the cycle was almost completed and Peter eventually left Harrison in the summer of 2008 to continue his own Education through Sports program.

His Cobb Tennis Academy, at Woodbine Station in Marietta, offers all aspects of tennis programming where he enjoys teaching Kids, Juniors and Adults, helping his 10u Girls and USTA Ladies earn top honors in the Atlanta City Championships.

Peter is a member of P.T.R as well as the PRINCE National Team and is excited to add "QuickLadder", in his North Atlanta area, as a way to encourage fun, competitive but flexible Challenge matches !!!
